Hello, my name is Fariba Farsad. I was born in Iran where I grew up with my paternal grandparents. My grandfather, Abutorab Farsad, was the reason for my passion for painting and interest in arts. He was a lover of beauty and showed me how to look into the detail of the world going on around me.

 

I left Iran in 1974 and migrated to London where I went to art school. After finishing my schooling in England, I had totally lost interest in art. I did not like the structural art world in schools. I am a free spirit and wanted to be free in whatever way I wanted to paint.

 

I started painting again after 30 some years. It was six years ago when I found the vibrant colors and intricate patterns that pop against the stark white canvas. My son, Ralyn, who passed away at age 29 due to the torturous disease of muscular dystrophy in 2024, believed in me, encouraged me to paint again and helped me with my Etsy shop and social media. His loving memory is encouraging me to start painting again after 2 years of not doing much.The results is what I have showcased here for you. I hope my son will always be close by. I now look forward to spent more time with my lovely daughter; she is the one I live for and wakeup for every morning.
